Creating individual embellishments can be time consuming. I sometimes set aside a day to sit and create embellishments so that I can have them on hand when putting together a quick card, page or otp at retreats or crops.
Today I am going to share with you a couple of the techniques I use on my chipboard and then I store these away for future use.
1. Napkins & Beads
I always pre-prime my chipboard unless I am using it raw.
Then add glue to the parts you want to add the napkin to. Press the napkin onto the chipboard.
I tear off the excess round the edges and neaten up with a knife if I have to. Then i have added another contrasting napkin to this project.

Next add dimensional magic glue to adhere your beads. Place the beads on and leave to dry.

Finally I have used dimensional paint for the body, and below is the final product...

2. Vintage butterfly using Tim Holtz distress embossing and inks.
This next butterfly is quick and easy. Take some music paper. Add glue all over the chipboard and adhere your paper. I have torn the excess off as the paper was so old and brittle… you may need to use a knife for some of the fiddly parts.
After this I used my Tim Holtz tea dye ink to highlight and blend in the edges and higlight the butterflies wings.
Next I took my versamark inkpad and added it to the edges of the butterflies wings – then I poured Tim Holtz distressing embossing powder to this.
All embossed and now time to rub off the crystals….
The final step I used was to add a few squirts of Moonshadow glimmer spray to finish off the vintage feel to the butterfly.

i hope this has given you food for thought to pre-create - i love having so many options ready for me when i am creating... especially when time is a big issue these days.
have fun creating
